Writing Effective Prompts
Updated Mar 29, 2026Guides
How to write prompts that get you the best results from the AI agent.
Be Specific
The more detail you provide, the better the result. Instead of "make a website", try:
- "Create a landing page for a fitness app with a dark theme, hero section with a CTA button, 3 feature cards, pricing table with 2 tiers, and a contact form"
Describe the Design
Tell the AI about your visual preferences:
- Colors: "Use a blue and white color scheme" or "Match the brand color #2663eb"
- Style: "Modern and minimal" or "Bold and colorful with gradients"
- Layout: "Full-width hero with centered text" or "Split layout with image left, text right"
- Font: "Use a clean sans-serif font" or "Elegant serif headings"
Reference Existing Sites
You can mention well-known sites for inspiration:
- "Design it similar to Stripe's landing page"
- "Use a layout like Notion's pricing page"
Upload Reference Images
Drag images into the chat for the AI to use as reference:
- Screenshots of designs you like
- Brand logos and assets
- Wireframes or sketches
Iterate in Small Steps
After the initial generation, make changes one at a time:
- "Make the hero section taller"
- "Change the CTA button to green"
- "Add a testimonials section below the features"
This is more reliable than asking for many changes at once.
Use Your Language
XAIO understands German, English, and many other languages. Write in whatever language feels natural — the AI responds in your language automatically.
Ask for AI-Generated Images
When you need custom visuals:
- "Generate a hero image showing a modern office workspace"
- "Create an illustration of a robot assistant"
The AI generates unique images and integrates them directly into your code.
